Sample's "What is the American Dream?" from the great and inhumanly prolific Southern Rock band Sur Rod

Audi from Sur Rod and I have been talking online for a while now and though we haven't met in real life, have cultivated a great personal and professional friendship.
I really like that sort of thing because it is majorly conducive to pushing one's own envelope, in my opinion.

Such was the case here, when he emailed me an early mix of the track, and told me to remix it if I wanted to.

After a few weeks of sort of sitting on it I found a great way to sample it, chopping up the chorus into a rap hook and the guitar into a nice pulsating rhythm behind my own synths, drums, and bass

the first verse has a more personal theme, while the second verse contrasts it with a focus on global politics, much like in Danny G-Tar
